Sacred Heart Gravesite in Saddle Lake Cree Nation
Leaders from Saddle Lake Cree Nation are now in plans for unearthing a potential unmarked mass grave located near a former Residential School site.
Windspeaker Radio Network spoke with Leah Redcrow, investigator director of the Blue Quills Missing Children and unmarked burials inquiry and CEO of Acimowin Opaspiw Society (AOS) as she talks about what was addressed in within the meeting in Enoch.
In October of 2023, a GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) was conducted to further analyze the numerous anomalies, which Redcrow states that’s tiny bones were discovered, and adding that the RCMP refused to investigate.
Redcrow says that there are 335 burial records from the Blue Quills Residential School on record.
