RCMP have said that part of Highway 63, north of Fort McKay, was closed for several hours on Wednesday morning due to a bus catching fire.
The bus fire happened around 5:40 a.m. on a bridge, known by locals as the ‘bridge to nowhere.’
It’s unclear how many people were on the bus, but police say everyone was able to safely get off the bus.
RCMP said the bus was blocking all lanes of traffic on Highway 63, and that it had to be closed for several hours.
Before 9 a.m., police said the highway had been reopened.
Police have not come out and said what caused the fire.
