Police in Fort Chipewyan are investigating a “targeted” shooting that left bullet holes in a house.
Wood Buffalo RCMP say that at 11:09 p.m. on Jan. 2, officers were told that someone had fired a weapon at a home on Henry Drive. The shooter ran away before police could arrive.
Mounties contained the area and searched for the shooter, but could not find the individual.
There were no physical injuries reported at the scene.
RCMP believe that this was a targeted incident, and there is no concern for public safety.
Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation Chief Allan Adam told members that leadership continues to work hard to make the community safe.
