On Saturday morning, there was a heavy police presence at Goodfish Lake First Nation in Northern Alberta.
St Paul RCMP officers responded to a firearms complaint, and had received information that multiple people were at a residence with firearms.
Mounties attended the residence, but the suspects departed prior to police arrival.
A short time later, the suspects were observed driving in a vehicle. Simultaneously, while RCMP members were investigating the firearms complaint, received an additional complaint of a residential fire in Goodfish Lake First Nations. It is believed the two occurrences are connected.
St. Paul RCMP contained the area and located three suspects without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, three people have been arrested. The two males and one female, who cannot be named until information is sworn, have been held in Police custody pending a Judicial Interim Hearing.
RCMP believe that this was a targeted incident and there is no concern for public safety. Additional information will be provided when available.
