Edmonton Police shot a man in downtown Edmonton after he was reported approaching people with a knife.
Crews were dispatched to investigate the complaint around 8:30pm on Sunday December 3rd. The armed man was reportedly approaching people near 99 Avenue and 111 Street, when police arrived to the area a confrontation occurred and an officer discharged their firearm. Despite attempting life saving measures, the suspect passed away on scene.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team were collecting evidence and will take control of the investigation.
