Weather is delaying the construction of the winter road to Fort Chipewyan.
While construction work on the seasonal road is underway, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo say’s that unseasonably warm November is limited progress.
In earlier November, The RMWB had expected to open the road before December 25th, but reminded residents that construction is weather-dependent.
The weather forecast for much of this week shows daytime highs within a few degrees of the freezing mark.
Road crews will continue to work to safely open the Winter Road as soon as possible in December.
