Edmonton police say they have recovered the suspect vehicle believed to have been involved in the fatal hit-and-run on Victoria Trail late Monday night.
The vehicle – a Volkswagen Routan – was reported stolen Tuesday according to an EPS news release.
The damaged vehicle was later found in northeast Edmonton near 62 Street and 148 Avenue Tuesday evening according to EPS.
According to witnesses, a woman was walking westbound across the northbound lanes of Victoria Trail against the light when she was struck by what they described as a blue minivan.
The crews on scene attempted to save the woman’s life but she was pronounced dead by EMS when they arrived.
