After years of planning and delays, the Valley Line Southeast LRT is set to open to the public on November 4th at 5:15 a.m. at the Mill Woods stop and 102 Street stop downtown.
Ground broke on the Valley Line back in spring of 2016 and was scheduled to open in 2020. After a large concrete mass was found under the Tawatinâ Bridge in the North Saskatchewan River in 2018, supply chain issues in 2020 due to the pandemic, and cracks in some of the lines piers last year, the project kept being pushed back until now.
The Valley Line will operate the same hours as both the Capital and Metro LRT lines:
- From the 102 Street stop, service will begin at 5:15 a.m. seven days a week.
- From the Mill Woods stop, service will begin at 5:00 a.m. Monday – Friday, and 5:15 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
- Final trains depart 102 Street stop and Mill Woods stop at 1 a.m. Monday – Saturday, and 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
A formal grand opening ceremony for the Valley Line Southeast LRT will be held in 2024.
