From October 13th to the 15th, the Powwow Times will be hosting their 3rd Annual International event in Red Deer.
The anticipated event will showcase some of the best Indigenous dancers and Singers from across North America. With nationwide success in 2022, this years celebration will hope to build on the previous years success with more sponsors and business opportunities.
The three day event kicks off on Friday, October 13th with a Youth Day Celebration from 9am-3pm. Patrick Mitsuing is one of the organizers of the Powwow and says it’s incredibly important to have events like this to help motivate the younger generation to pursue, drums, singing and dancing.
When asked about the name of the event, Mitsuing says though the event is young, they have goals of travelling across different regions hosting the Powwow with many spectators and dancers coming from across the globe to watch their annual events.
