The Edmonton Oil Kings are set to host a Thanksgiving game matinee in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank when they take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes on October 9th.
Windspeaker Radio Network spoke with Oil Kings Director of Business Operations Kevin Radomski, as he speaks on what the day of supporting Edmonton’s Food Banks means to him and the Oil Kings.
With the Oil Kings being one of the marquee flags of the WHL, Radomski hopes that other teams within the league will follow suit in tackling the food bank crisis.
With many fans looking to support the event, corporate sponsors like Voila, Safeway and Sobeys will be donating three thousand boxes of Mac and Cheese that will be sold for 5 dollars at the game, with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards the Edmonton Food Banks, with Randomski saying he’s proud to see.
