Lac La Biche’s new transitional housing facility located next to the Alexander Hamilton Community Park is nearing it’s opening date in the fall.
The facility which is built on municipal property is aiming to reduce the amount of homelessness population within the community.
Lenora LeMay, board chair of the Lakeland Out of the Elements Society spoke with CFWE about the new housing facility, and how it will be able to aid 25 people that are looking for basic needs within the facility to get back into the normality of living.
LeMay says that the choice of the location will allow those living there to create gardening spaces and allow more space for people to take in programs that they will be offering at the facility.
LeMay speaks on the time frame of the opening of the facility, as well as expressing her excitement of the newly expanded location in the county.
